Baked Beans and Franks

Baked beans are a traditional New England food that has spread all across the United States. Field Roast Frankfurters wrapped in slow cooked beans simmered in a tangy sweet sauce are a perfect meal on a cold night.

Ingredients

1 large Batch of your favorite baked beans or your favorite canned vegetarian variety
1 pack Field Roast Frankfurters
Ketchup
Mustard
Brown sugar or molasses
Yellow onion, diced
Red pepper, diced

Preparations

If using canned vegetarian baked beans, add condiments such as ketchup, mustard, onion and molasses to add a home cooked taste. Heat beans on the stove top until hot and the stewing juice has thickened, about 20 minutes. Add coin sized slices of Field Roast Frankfurters to the hot beans and mix until incorporated. Heat the beans and frankfurters until warmed through, about 10 minutes. Serve with your favorite accompaniments as well as warmed dinner rolls.

Hi Pearl! This is one of the few recipes that doesn't have exact measurements because it is meant to be altered to your specific taste preference. I would probably use 1 can of beans if cooking for yourself or 2 cans of beans if cooking for 2-3 people. For one serving, I would dice half an onion and a full red pepper, adding about a tablespoon of any condiments. Taste as you go!
