6 Ways To Do Labor Day Weekend

We love being outdoors just like a lot of our fans…our home is in the Pacific Northwest after all!

Making All-American vegetarian food that is delicious, cruelty-free and packed with protein is close to our hearts and so is knowing that it follows you in your next adventure. Whether it be hiking, camping, beach-lounging or playing sports – Labor Day Weekend is a great opportunity to bring Field Roast along for the ride! Here are some recent photos from our fans enjoying the outdoors and some inspiration for the long weekend ahead:

1. Take a Hike!

3. Go Backpacking!

We have a lot of fans who stick frozen Field Roast in their pack to enjoy once they thaw during a backpacking trip – just like David Lee and his sons have done for years (pictured)!

4. Have a Picnic in the Park!

You may have already snagged some Chao Cheese up from your local Whole Foods Market. If you are still on the hunt, start asking your other local stores when they will start stocking it! In the meantime, they are also available online, via Vegan Essentials and Pangea.

Join the vegan cheese buzz on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We can’t wait to hear your feedback.

Field Roast on King 5’s Evening Magazine

We were very excited to hear that PCC Natural Food Market‘s Chef Lynn Vea wanted to bring King 5’s camera crew into the Field Roast facility to do an Evening Magazine segment! Lynn and the crew were very friendly and had a great time walking through production with David, while the Smoked Apple Sage Sausages were being mixed and Celebration Roasts hand-dipped. Tommy cooked for the crew, who loved tasting our Hazelnut Cranberry Roast en Croute and Celebration Roast. Below is the segment that aired on Evening Magazine, Thursday December 4th:

We are grateful for the opportunity to share what we do at Field Roast and for our relationship with PCC! Here’s a little look behind the scenes during the shoot:

New Product: Chao Slices!

Remember when we announced a surprise to come this October? We said it was unlike any other product we’ve ever created. The guesses started pouring in for new grain meat products, which were super fun to read, but this secret was hard to keep. Because, SURPRISE! We’ve created cheese. Rich, creamy, delicious cheese. Vegan cheese, that we call Chao Slices.

All three flavors have already started making their debut on store shelves. Once you get your hands on some Chao Slices, head over to our recipe archives for some tasty creations.

Field Roast Without Borders

Hello again, Canada friends!

We have continued to receive a great amount of feedback and support from Canada over the weeks since ceasing distribution. Our Canadian customers are near and dear to the heart of Field Roast and we understand that our products are in high demand, which is why we continue to work towards a resolution. We recently sent a letter to the CFIA and Health Canada, asking for an exemption to sell our products in Canada while they work to reform the outdated regulations. For those who wish to take action, there is an online petition circulating to change flawed standards for vegetarian meats in Canada.

In the meantime, it has come to our attention that some Canadian residents live close to the states and will shop for Field Roast products across the border. For those that desire a Field Roast road trip, we’ve put together a list of stores nearest the border that should stay stocked with our products! In addition, we are opening our own doors to individuals who wish to visit us directly and purchase product by the case. Just give us a call ahead of time and show your Canadian ID upon arriving! This list was compiled after asking for your requested US cities on Facebook and contacting these locations, but there are of course plenty of other stores that carry Field Roast. It is recommended that you call your destination store(s) before hitting the road to make sure they have what you’re looking for and do any research necessary on bringing product over the border.
