Bánh Mì Style Dog
Serves 6 | Crafted with Signature Stadium Dog Plant-Based Hot Dogs
ABOUT THE FLAVOR ORIGIN
Inspired by the flavors found in a traditional Bánh Mì style sandwich, this hot dog is topped with pickled carrots and Daikon radish, fresh cilantro, sliced cucumbers and more. Kick up the spice level with plant-based sriracha mayo. Bonus: you’re about to learn how to do some quick pickling!
Ingredients
Quick Pickled Vegetables
1 cup carrots, shredded
1 cup Daikon radish, julienne
1 cup rice vinegar
1 cup water
¼ cup sugar
1 tsp salt
Sriracha Mayo
1 ½ tbsp Sriracha
½ cup Plant-based mayo
6 Field Roast Signature Stadium Dog
6 sausage buns or baguette
¾ cup cucumber, sliced thin
3 small habanero peppers, seeded and sliced thin
3 scallions, sliced thin on a bias
Fresh cilantro
Preparations
Place carrots and radishes into a jar with a sealable lid (like a mason jar).
In a small sauce pot add vinegar, water, sugar and salt. Turn heat on high and bring to a boil. Stir a few times to help sugar dissolve. Once boiling, remove from heat and pour over your carrots and radishes. Let cool. Cover and refrigerate until you are ready to assemble your dog.
In a small bowl, mix sriracha and mayo together. Set aside.
Cook the Signature Stadium Dogs according to package directions.
Toast buns as desired.
To assemble your dog, spread one side of each bun with sriracha mayo. Add your hot dog. Top with pickled vegetables, cucumbers, peppers, scallions and cilantro.
