For the last few years we’ve been participating in “Eat Local” events around Seattle. The first year was in Ballard and we made some BBQ skewers of Field Roast (see the blog on that) and this year we are donating some sausages for them to use.
Local food producers and providers include: Field Roast, Full Circle Farm, Bird on a Wire, Radical Cupcake, Mashiko, Spud, Elliott Bay Brewing, Thundering Hooves Farm, PCC, Platypus Breads, Seatown Snack Bar, Blackboard Bistro, The Grange Café, Blackboard Bistro, Alvarez Organic Farm, Big Al Brewing, Chef Tracy Knight, Chef Ariel Bangs, Salumi, Brian Allen, Charlies Produce, Willie’s Organic Greens, Hope Burundi Cooperative and the Somali-Bantu Farmers of Washington.
The evening includes dinner, exhibitors, and speakers active in the local food movement, a silent auction and music. Eat Local Now! encourages participation in local food systems, bolstering the local economy and the development of green jobs.
The event will be at the Herban Feast in Sodo Park at 3200 1st Avenue South in Seattle on September 30th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
